So for our 5th and final assignment in art 120 we’re asked to create an image book that consist of an object-of our choice-then to produce that object with multiple variations (like 30+ times!!), using both technology and our ‘good-old-trusty’ hands and a variety of mediums.
When Kate introduced this assignment, I was elated. Oh, how I patiently waited to do an assignment that allowed me the freedom to see through the eyes of a child. “Make the image from whatever,” Kate says, about the handmade portion of the assignment. I felt like a Toy’R’us kid all over again, wide-eyed and all! I rate this assignment with Big-Snaps-in-Z-formation!

Process?!? Hmmm, an image for the book huh?…had some ideas-to some extent- about the genre of my image (my children’s art). I just had to find it amongst all the other drawings and artwork I saved over 6+ years.

The first treatments I created, were achieved with the use of Photoshop (or in some cases, illustrator);

1. Start with a rectangle of blue on the first layer. Lock the layer. Create a new layer.

2. Change the color to yellow. On the new layer using the Pen tool, draw a cityscape in the negative space.

3. Use the Pen tool and draw in the shapes seen below making sure to change colors as necessary.

4. Change to dark gray and draw in a street as shown below.
5. Using the same yellow, draw in a center line for the road then change to the Knife tool and make cuts. Use the Direct Selection tool and delete the little sections.

6. Change to the background blue and draw in the details on the buildings.
7. Draw in the highlights and shadow areas.
8. Draw in the sun with the Ellipse tool.

9. Change to orange and the Pencil brush. Set in some detail in the sky with a Stroke weight of 3 pt.
10. Change to Stroke and the dark blue in the picture. Add lines in places.
11. Finally, using a 2 pt. stroke, add in white and black lines, then change to a dark blue and add a couple of shadows by the buildings.

Use the blend to add dimension to your text.

1.The first thing I had to do was draw a curve, and select the Pen Tool, and draw a smooth curve.

2. the Path-Type Tool by click on the curve. Then typed away.
w/ the Selection Tool, i Changed the color of my type to bright pinkish/purple.

3. made a copy of the type, set the copy a little down bellow the original text. Changed the copy's color to dark purple, and send it to back.
4. selected both the original type and the copied text. Double clicked on the Blend Tool

5. clicked on exactly the same points on both the original type and the copy (for example clicked on the lowermost anchor point on S on both types, and done! I now have 3-D type

Learn How to Create Vector Fire

1. Create a document that is 8.5 inches by 11 inches. Double-click on the Pencil Tool from the Tools Panel to bring up the Pencil Tool Preferences dialog. In the dialog change the Fidelity to .5.
2. With the Pencil Tool, draw a flame shape that is roughly 8.5 inches tall by 5 inches wide. Then fill it with black. Make sure that the Paths are closed by pressing Alt before finishing drawing the shape.
3. Draw another flame shape within the first one, making sure not to overlap the shapes (sometimes this causes the Blend not to work properly). Once you have finished drawing and closing the shape, fill it with an orange color
4. Draw another flame shape within the previous one, and fill it with a yellow color. Keep in mind you want the path closed and not overlapping the other paths.
5. Draw another flame shape within the previous one and fill with a light yellow.
6. Now that all the flame shapes are drawn, select all the flames and create a Blend by going to Object > Blend > Make.

How to Use Effects to Create a Cool Design

1. Started out w/ creating a new document, then created a black circle.
2. With my circle still selected, applied the transform effect (Effect -Distort & Transform -Transform...).

3. Again w/ the first circle still selected, I chose a gradient fill color, and applied a linear gradient.

4. My circle still selected, moved the transform effect's layer to the top of the list. then a second transform effect.

5. added a 75% Fisheye Warp (Effect -Warp -Fisheye) then moved the Warp layer all the way down on th effects layer list.

6. Added the twist: Effect -Warp -Twist.

7. dragged the whole object to the Graphic Styles palette and created a black rectangle shape elsewhere on the artboard, applied the style to it by just selecting the rectangle and click on the style in the graphic styles palette.

Creating Road Maps in Adobe Illustrator

How to Create a Mosaic Portrait from a Photograph

1. Created a new document 400 pixels square. It can be RGB or CMYK.
2. Place a photo into the document. For this illustration, I'm using a tightly-cropped square portrait. Uncheck the Link button, in the Place dialog, so the photo will be embedded. If you forget this step, simply go to the Links panel and embed the image.

3. Make sure the photo is 400 pixels by 400 pixels. If necessary, you can resize it in the Control Panel. The beauty of this technique is that you can start with a less-than-perfect photo and get a nice result.
4. With the image selected, go to Object > Create Object Mosaic.
5. Enter one tenth the size of the full image in the Number Of Tiles section.

Since the image is 400 pixels by 400 pixels, the number of tiles will be 40 and 40. Check Delete Raster in the Options section.
6. Ungroup the mosaic. You should be able to select individual squares. Now go to Effect > Convert to Shape and choose Ellipse...

7. In the Shape Options dialog, enter 10 pixels for the Width and Height (400 pixels by 400 pixels, divided by 40 rows and columns). That's it, you're done!

8. For added touch, use Rectangle Tool, click once on the artboard, 400 pixels by 400 pixels for the size, fill it with black, and send it behind the mosaic.

Illustrator Diamond Plate Pattern

began a new document in illustrator, color mode RGB.

Selected the Ellipse Tool and then I clicked nmy curser on the art-board to bring up the Ellipse Tool dialog.

then I created an ellipse 5px wide by 25px high and gave it a dark gray color.
Then center aligned my ellipse onto my artboard.
making sure the ellipses is selected, I made a click on the artboard, once again, to bring up the Ellipse Tool dialog box.
And then, again repeating the steps previously stated in this tut, I aligned it horizontally and vertically on the art-board. And only a slight alteration w/ making the ellipse smaller; 7px wide by 7px high, same dark gray.
Added my two ellipses together by Option-clicking the Add to shape area button on the Pathfinder palette.
Added a black stroke; weight of 0.625pt. Pulled up the Appearance palette and moved the black stroke behind the dark grey fill.
duplicated, the dark gray shape, and pasted it directly in front of the first shape.
Then I changed the fill color of the new shape to a light gray and removed its black stroke.
Offset the copy of new shape slightly to right.
w/ Object > Transform > Move (Shift + Command + M)
added the settinmgs Horizontal: 0.75px
Vertical: 0px
deleted the second copy of the light gray shape.
Selected all of the shapes and grouped them together.
Rotated the grouped object by 45°.
Object > Transform > Rotate
Angle: 45°
Shift a copy of the newly the rotated object to the right.
Object > Transform > Move (Shift + Command + M)
Horizontal: 40px
Vertical: 0px
Make sure to click Copy instead of OK
Selected both objects and moved a copy of them down.
Object > Transform > Move (Shift + Command + M)
Horizontal: 0px
Vertical: 40px
Selected all four objects and then moved them once more.
Object > Transform > Move (Shift + Command + M)
Horizontal: 20px
Vertical: -20px
by selecting all four of the new objects, I made a reflection of them vertically.
Object > Transform > Reflect
Vertical: Selected
Finally select all eight objects and then proceeded to drag-and-drop them into my Swatches palette to create a Swatch Pattern. Once you have the pattern as a swatch you can apply it as a fill or stroke to any shape object inside of Illustrator.

Illustrator Sunburst

Using the Polygon Tool, I double clicked on the Polygon Tool and then entered the settings shown from the tutorial.doing this gives me an equilateral triangle.

then, selecting the Rotation Tool, clicking at the top point of my triangle, allowing the triangle to now rotate around when using the Rotation Tool.

I then filled the triangle w/ a light blue color.
i made a copy of my triangle using the shortcut ctrl+d.
I pressed ctrl+d, 6 more times to make 6 additional copies of my triangle, rotating each 45 degrees, to complete the sunburst look.

Live Trace in Illustrator

live trace a scanned image or other image file into a vector image w/ illustrator.

Open a New document. go to -File-Place- then navigate to the graphic to be traced, and that will become a vector.

2. Select the image, go to -Object-Live Trace-Tracing Options-.

Select -Trace- in the top right corner of the -Tracing Options- window, and dont forget to EXPAND the image after Trace.

And....presto-changeo, your graphic is now vectorised, and can be scaled without loosing quality.

Road Style

1. Created a new file.

Selected the pen tool and make a stroke.
Opened the appearance palette by selecting Window/Appearance from the file menu.
In the stroke palette i changed the weight to 10pt.
Dragged the 10pt stroke from the appearance palette to the Duplicated one Selected Item icon at the bottom of the palette.
This created a copy of the 10pt stroke so that there are now two of them.
Double clicked on the stroke tile and dragged the cursor to the white area to make the stroke on top.
Going back to my stroke palette, i changed the weight of the white stroke to 1pt. thus creating a white stripe through the middle of the black stroke.
back on to the stroke palette, to check the dashed line box.
first dash box typed 6pt and pressed enter.
i then Clicked on the New Graphic Style button in the graphic styles palette and my road has now become part of the documented graphic styles.

it is saved for future use, in a very convenient location, the graphic styles tab.

Creating a HalfTone Effect in Illustrator

An Intro to Mesh Tool

Creating the Shape
1. Smart Guides and w/ ellipse tool and created a circle.

2. I Created the Mesh by Selecting the mesh tool and clicking exactly in the center of the circle.

3. Division of the shaded areas Similarly click and divided the right side and the left side of the circle with clicking on the line running horizontally.
4. Switched tool to direct selection tool and selected all the nodes on the outer anchor points of the circle
5. Shaded w/ color palette and dragged it to a light blue

6. Selected the middle anchor points, and picked up a shade of pink.
7. Creating the face create and easily selected any anchor point and using its handles changed the direction of the color blending.

8. Using similar technique i drew now eyes.

i think i will end this one. i love animation so much that i could go on forever w/ this!!!

Trendy Geometric Lines Design

1. I Started the design in Illustrator, drew out some blocks, and filled them w/ my possible color schemes. Had a difficult time decieding which one I liked btter.

I quess, to make this easier, I will flip a coin. Heads for the one on the left, and tales for the right……drum role please……and its tails! So the one on the right it shall be.

2. created a New Art Brush based on the blocks w/ chosen color scheme.

3. after saving the brush in the Brushes Palette, I began drawing the geometric lines.

4. Using the Pen Tool, i drew a 45 degree line across the page, all the while, holding Shift to constrain the angle.

5. chose new art brush from the Brushes Palette and applied to the line
6. I Repeated this process several times, scaling each one slightly to give varied sizes and widths to work w/.
7. then I Produced another line with the Pen Tool, giving the line rounded corners by heading to Effect > Stylize > Round Corners w/ a radiuos of 55px.

8. combined and matched up the color to other lines.
9. repeating the same process, to create a longer curved line, this time changing the direction flow across the document crossing all other lines.

10. I then Selected the group of lines and Copied, switched over to Photoshop, setting up a new document, Pasted in the lines and scaled appropriately.
11. On the background layer fill the page with an accompanying colour, I use a 20% Yellow to give a pale tint.
12. adding a few effects onto copied layers, and changing the blending options this is what I have completed.

This one was a lengthy
tutorial. But, hell, did I learn a lot. Both in illustrator and photoshop.

As usual, I began by creating a new document in Illustrator. This time, the tutorial instructed that it be a specific document size and color mode-500x [px]/rgb] so that’s what I did.
Using the type tool, I typed Nae-nae onto the artboard.
w/ text selected, went to Object > Expand Keep the Object and Fill checkbox in checked and click Ok.

Clicked Window>Swatches and then applied the gradient effect to my text.
I opened the Gradient palette by going to Window>Gradient.
Dragged the pink color from the Swatches palette and dropped it into the dark purple gradient slider

I then selected the first character [N] then, selected the Gradient Tool. Clicked on the top left of the N character (while holding the left mouse click), dragged it to the center middle then released.

Finally, I applied a drop shadow to all characters by going to Effect>Stylize >Drop Shadow.

Ta-da! ;-) look at that beauteous text.
I have to mention that before I did this tutorial, my knowledge of gradients were rather elementary. Now, I understand that there are limitless possibilities with gradients and gradient tool.

Fancy Star

I began this tutorial by creating a new document
Then

1. I Selected the star tool in the tool palette, and created the following star using my favorite color, purple.

2.Then, making sure that the star shape was selected, I pressed ctrl+c to make a copy of my star, pressed ctrl+v to paste that copy on top of the original star.

3.Changed the color and scaled the new star to about 10% the size of my original one.

4.Selecting both stars, I went up to 'object-tab-blend-and blend options' from the top menu. Using these settings

Designing a Sleek Pencil Icon

I really thought this tut looked oddly fun, in a dangerous sort of way. Icon’s[purging gradients galore] are kind of like finding a fly in your tomato soup…you don’t dare ly consume it, even if it is free! J/k
Well…here I go…
1.created a new document
2.After selecting snap to grid/and show grid in the viewing options, using the Rectangle Tool,
I drew out a rectangle, no. really?

3.I used various different tools, such as the Pen Tool and the Rounded Rectangle Tool. to make the rest of the pencils shapes.

4.And onto coloring each shape.

5.now, using the colors as my guide, I added gradients to each of the shapes

6.End finished off by adding a little highlight effect to the top of the pencil, by making a two-point path across the top of the pencil.

1.First, I created new document.

Create a Gang of Vector Ninjas

using the Circle Tool, I drew a circle on the artboard, I held the Shift key while I did this to create a perfectly symmetrical object.
then used the Square Tool and drew another shape on the artboard, and positioned this to overlap the original circle.

Using the Align Palette to centre the two shapes horizontally.
next I used the Rounded Rectangle Tool to draw a small leg. Adjusting the roundness of the corners with the keyboard cursor keys until I had the ends completely circular.
made another circle on the artboard, and beside it a much larger oval. And Overlapped the two objects.
With these two shapes selected, I chose the Subtract from Shape Area option from the Pathfinder palette. And Chose to Expand to refresh the bounding box of the shape.
placed the semi-circular shape within the head of the character then with the blob brush tool, gave him/her some dots for eyes
with the torso and limbs selected, I chose the Add to Shape Area option from the Pathfinder tool and Expand to merge the shapes into one.
filled the body with dark grey. Gave it a heavy black stroke
added a new stroke of lighter grey to the inside of the entire character.
then added a new fill for the peach color for the face.
again, made changes to the stroke of the peach, inside, slightly darker than the fill then I copied/pasted original line character.
Moving their limbs to create action. And that is all!
I really enjoyed this tut. Not too long and not too short. Just right

Using the Ellipse tool (L) i drew a circle with some stroke colors that I chose.

I used the offset path (object>path >offset path ) to create another circle around it .. Select the Circles , create a copy and Paste in back , increase the size of the two circles behind.
Now I can create a custom brush .

For this, i created an oval shape , aligned its copies and then expanded the whole shape
here is how…

I Selected the outer circle of the largest element.
Then i created some additional design elements to it . I used a spiral tool .

With this shape, i closed the end parts by joining them .
then created a copy of it, and repeated this…
I used the paint bucket tool to fill up the areas witth my colors.

Expanding all the brushes, and all other shapes fills and strokes possible.
I worked on it a few times to come up with this.

in this tut i learned how to use brushes , create brushes , learned how to speed up my work process by using the brushes.

How to make a perfect heart for your valentine

Step 1
Start with Ellip tool L
Draw two circles while pressing down shift , this will ensure that you get a perfect circle.

Hold on to the alt key while selecting the first circle , which will duplicate your current shape .

Press shift while you drag the copy towards the right , this will ensure that your circles are aligned while you move one of them. Open the path finder window ( short cut Shift+ctrl+F9 ) by going to windows > pathfinder

Select both of your circles and hit the expand button while pressing alt . this will join both of your circles your circle will look now something like this

How to create a unique watercolor text effect

how to create in a simple cool watercolor text effect way.
The background.I began with opening a 600×400 canvas and filled it with a light brown color.

Then downloaded a metal texture, pasted it into the canvas, and desaturated it
changed the layer blend mode to overlay with opacity 90%.

The Circle. I Used the Ellipse tool to draw a dark brown circle

Watercolor Brush Set. Nevermind I couldn’t get them to download!! Aarrghh!! Instead I used a brush w/ a medium/hard diam.

Text. Let’s add the text. I have used impact

The effect. Ctrl+clicked on the text layer to select its pixels. hid the layer and selected the one where I have painted with the brush.
Went to Select>Inverse and press canc. Thiis is where I got lost in this tut… what the heck is canc?

Anywho, onto the Path.. Hid the last layer created.
The path, the colored text, and the white text.
How to create the path: have to work on the first (white) text layer created.
Select the Horizontal type tool and right-clicked on the text>Created Work Path.
I hope that the final product should look something like this:

4. load the brushes
5. I selected the brush tool then went to the document and right clicked

6. which then allowed me to select a new brush tool of my choice
7. Putting a new layer (by clicking Ctrl+Shift+N) and selecting the white color as the foreground, I colored and painted with the brush in the work area.
8. I repeated the previous steps and tried-really hard- not to forget to set a new layer for each one.
o Little additions that I made to the brush strokes were:
1. changed Blending Options of layers
2. changed color overlay
3. added an outer Glow
o –Repeated this for each brush layer

this tut was really fun and I enjoyed messing w/ the different outcomes I could make.

Now go to channels select the blue channel then inverse it
after that select the RGB channel then go back to layer :

This tutorial shows how to reproduce the tilt-shift lens effect in Adobe Photoshop in order to create a miniature model effect.

I chose to use these photographs, one taken by a friend of mine, to try this out.

Creating a Glowing Sphere in An Inverted Image

in my opinion, to say the least, is that this particular tut was one of the more challenging tuts, thus far.
1. I began by opening the Futuristic Girl image and duplicating the layer.

next, I created the glowing ball effect by:

opening a new document and filling it in w/ black.
then I Duplicated the background layer and renamed it ‘Effects’.
then chose Filter > Render > Lens Flare.
I then picked the following settings; a 105mm Prime, set the brightness to 100 and positioned the flare in center of layer.
Next, went to Image > Adjustments > Color Balance and followed the settings as shown below.
I Duplicated the Effects layer, then went to Filter > Liquefy.
Picked the Twirl Clockwise tool to Create a twirl on the duplicated flare layer.
Moving along, I Created another new blank layer and named it ‘Ray’.
Drew lines over the layer using the Brush Tool.
picked Filter > Liquify > Twirl Clockwise
Next, going to Filter > Blur > Radius Blur.
I Set the method to Zoom and quality to Good.
Then, shifted the Radius Blur Center near to the right side corner in the preview box
Now, I chose an appropriate Brush and brush size from the brush palette
went to Filter >Liquify > Twirl Clockwise
Double clicked the Brush Layer to enter the Blending Options.
Adjusted the Outer Glow and settings as shown in the diagram below.
When all is done, created a group folder and put all these layers into it before bringing it to the Futuristic Girl working space

but wait, not done yet!!!

I Hid the Glowing ball Effects Group layer and worked on Layer 1 Copy (Futuristic Girl).
Inverted the image by clicking Ctrl + I
chose Difference for blending options of later group.
Exclusion for duplicated woman layer.
Erase tooled the rough, outer edges of the glowing ball effects group layer.
okay, now i be Done!

Creating a wood grain pattern Image

For this tutorial,

I created a new document.
Created a new layer and using the Rectangle Tool covered the entire document with black.

Making sure that my foreground colour was set to black and my background colour was set to white
I selected and clicked on “Filter”, “Render” and then selected “Fibers”.
entered the settings

with blending window open, chose “Gradient Overlay” from the left hand side menu and
entered these settings:

made a new layer above my current layer

Changed my foreground colour to brown and using the Rectangle Tool; filled the entire layer with the brown colour.
Then set the layer style to “Color”

And voala! The final product.

Creating a Surreal Floating Eiffel Tower Scene In Photoshop
For this tutorial, Design a Surreal Floating Eiffel Tower Scene In Photoshop, I had to first download images. Then with new document open, place first layer, and this is the image I started with.

1. I added a layer mask .

2. I added layer effects.

3. I copied/pasted selected image of tower onto the new layer.

4. again, copied/pasted selected image of moon onto new layer.
and finally, the completed image.

This tutorial was helpful in learning layers and combining images using several layers.

building proposals, part duo!

After much pulling of the hair, and cursing at my computer, i broke down....literally. unwilling to give up, i searched for and found assistance with the purchase of the Adobe "Bible", then moved on with finishing the remaining building prop. for this assignment .

this concept is pretty cool. Vector vines smothering 3D Dots.

i really enjoyed 'playing' w/ the psu logo. One sample image of the fun is apparent directly below here. unfortunatley, even though i love the end pattern design, it looks pretty gross when applied to the psu building.

And finally, the striped building. I was sure that i needed to try a design that 'popped'. with the stripes varying weights and trying to apply bright colors for this one, I think it looks... noticable now.

This was my PSU logo pattern idea adheared to one of the building images. I like it a lot. Although it totally looks like crap after butchering it in photoshop.

As far as my process goes and how I feel overall about the assignment-look at earlier blog posts- is that the process is an awesome tool. But, unfortunately that doesnt really show. I am extremely disappointed with my end design. But that is why I am in the GD program, to learn and practice and I know my designs will improve.

Week of tut's

Okay, I need to let out a little steam...

...I am having an extremely hard time keeping up with everything!!! Almost sure that I'm the only one struggling too :-( or so it seems from reading everyone's blog's. Seems like if its not one thing...its another. Now my sons school is shut down for at least a week because of a case of the Swine Flu! Which scares me, because my family and I, have all been sick for weeks.
God I hope there is some relief in sight.
K, now I feel a little better. Now on with the blog...
For this weeks tut's I chose to work on refining my pen tool skills. So they will all be related to using the pen tool.

1st one gave me a great run down of what the pen tool can do.

2nd one had all the definitions layed out for me. Never really knew what some of those symbols meant. Now I know, - (delete), +(add), ^(converts)which ultimately switchs anchor between a smooth and a corner point.

3rd one made the pen tool look like a blast to use.
Right along with the 4th one, which made the pen tool totally fun, instead of frustrating, to use.

And the 5th Showing the how to's of handles and more in depth variations on what could be done with the pen tool.

The jump off- I created a new template from the image of the logo..

Then, with advise from Gloria, I reduced the
opacity of the image template to about 15% or so...in order to SEE what the heck I'm doing!

A little problem, with the top of the A, not sure what happened. Evey time I grab the line and attempt to delete, slice, or erase that center line, it winds up deleting the entire thing. trying..[process04]

whatever?! Moving on....about to begin on the G.[process05]

Okay, all done except for that little quirk in the A! Any suggestions?[process06]

Assignment 3-Logo Groups

What a week!!! Crazy events unfolded this week, the main one being that my daughter managed to injure herself, a hairline fracture to the tail-bone of all places!?
Anywho, I have a lot to catch up on, so here goes.....

the new assignment, the group logo rendering is the first one on the list of to do's. I was able to get in touch with my group members despite my absence on Tues. The logo I am working on is Peter Behren's logo design for AEG (Allgemeine Elektrizitäts Gesellschaft). A Historic German company producing heavy industrial goods and consumer electronics.
I have to admit, I enjoyed researching the where/why and how the AEG design came to be and its history a lot more than the actual rendering of 'the sum of its parts'.
I would share my findings...but then I would have nothing to talk about during our short presentation! ;-)
Here is the start of my process, after creating a new template from placing the AEG image, cutting the opacity down to some where around 15% or so, opened new document from the template and then begun the rendering process(w/ pen tool)

And heres the end product. Not bad, huh?!

Okay..for the postcard assignment I found that Kate's examples on her process, helped me tremendously. I started with writing down main themes and colors of Paul Rands designs. After that, I took my notes and began sketching some rough ideas, anything that came to mind....really.

the artist that i chose to do research on is Paul Rand. Paul Rand is an amazing illustrator, including other talents. his primary field of work was in graphic design and modern art. Rand lived from August 15, 1914 to November 26, 1996. Many consider Rand to be the 'father' of American modern graphic design and well known from his IBM logo design. Rand's talents started to gain popular interest during the 1950's, and continue to live on to this day. the themes and concepts Rand is well kmow for working with is corporate logo designs, including other mediums as a painter, lecturer, industrial designer, and advertising artist. Rand's inspirations came primarily from what he observed in our country, the usa. Rand's boundless limits to where his imagination thrived was what other graphic designers, artists, and others strive to achieve on a daily basis. Rand was also very interested in producing books of theory to illuminate his philosophies. His influences were boundless, using pop-art along with the modernist philosophies. His objective in every aspect of being an artist was to defamiliarize the ordinary.

My thoughts on the handout we received on Thursday are that there are many ways to interpret the trends and their rapid growth within the art realm and patterns. Sometimes we find, with the coming of new and better ideas, that change is difficult to swallow. I remember watching my dad-who I believe to be one of the most talented commercial artists ever-work tediously, with airbrush in one hand and sharp exacto blade in the other. There is something unique about those who have the patience to work weeks or even months on one job until it was perfect. Somehow, the process of trial and error, along with massive amounts of patience, allows(more like feeds, really!) yours talents to be defined, redefined, and then refined.
By all accounts, I agree with the thoughts of the author, Jim Datz, without the balance of these processes(as for primarily computer generated) you loose out on true growth. Jim Datz does not state in the end, whether there will be respect lost or gained for artists/designers creating today's patterns. However, I got the impression from his tone, that in the end, all you have is images and quiet possibly a bunch of 'artists' lacking great substance and soul.

Weekend Image Upload Scavenger Hung

I absolutely love the colors that the artist used in this image. They are vibrant. the placement of the images' shapes are thoughtfully 'thrown' into place. It provides diversity.

This one is pretty good. Even though the text is difficult to read at first. I love the geometric design of the layout. I think that the 2 dimensional heading could be tweaked, in order to better compliment the rest of the image.

I wonder just how long this took to create!! Absolutely incredible.--------->

Again, with my love for vibrant color and geometric shapes! The artist has developed a unifying randomness order to the image.
